Mrs. Florence Ellard, 37, estranged wife of Leon Ellard, ended her life by taking poison at the home of John Henry, 1206 Collingwood Ave, Parchment, Monday night. Mrs. Ellard was housekeeper for Henry, the sheriff's department reported. An investigation of the death was made by sheriff's deputies and Dr. Horace R. Cobb, county coroner. A note, written presumably by Mrs. Ellard and addressed to her mother gave added indication of suicide. Henry said Mrs. Ellard had not been in good health and had informed him at 6 Monday night that she would not be able to get his supper for him. Henry said he went down town for supper and when he returned he found his housekeeper lying on a davenport, dead. Mrs. Ellard is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hamlin, residing west of Kalamazoo, and the husband, Leon Ellard. Besides the parents, she is survived by two brothers, Lawrence and William Hamlin, both of Kalamazoo, and one sister, Mrs. Oscar Allison, of Williams. Funeral services will be conducted in the Stevenson church at Kibby, MI, at 2 Wednesday.
