Robert Alva Hamlin, 66, of 2848 Lake Street, a resident here for 30 years, died yesterday afternoon at Borgess Hospital after an illness of eight months. He was born Jun 10, 1876, in Allegan County, and had been a night watchman at the Kalamazoo Paper Co mill No. 2. Surviving are the wife, May; a daughter, Mrs. Opal Allison; two sons, Lawrence and William Hamlin, all of this city; a brother, James Hamlin of Cadillac, and five grandchildren. There will be a prayer service at 1 Fri afternoon at the Joldersma and Klein chapel when the body will be taken to Kibby, MI, for funeral services at 3 from the Kibby Community House. Interment will be there in the Stevenson Cemetery.
