Mr. William R. "Bill" Hamlin, 312 Candlewick – Passed away Wed evening Nov 6, 1985. Mr. Hamlin was born Jun 13, 1918, in Kalamazoo, MI, the son of Robert and Mae (Ely) Hamlin and was a life resident of this community. He retired in 1983 from Kalamazoo Stamping and Die Company where he was employed for 42 years. He attended the Zion Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Doll, and a brother, Lawrence "Farmer". On Apr 25, 1940, he was united in marriage to Bernice E. Scharping, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Sandra Lee Allen and husband, Brian of Arlington, TX; 3 grandchildren, Bill, Bob, and Peggy Harrell, all of Arlington; 1 great-granddaughter, Kristi; a sister, Mrs. Opal Allison of Cadillac; several nieces and nephews. Services for Mr. Hamlin will be held Sat afternoon at 1 o'clock from the Langland Memorial Chapel with Pastor Timothy W. Koening and Pastor Louis W. Grother officiating. Interment in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery.
