Gladys E. Allison

GLEN ROCK – Gladys E. (Gladfelter) Allison, 71, of Glen Rock, died at 5:20 p.m. Monday at Shrewsbury Lutheran Retirement Village, after a long illness. She was the wife of Eugene R. "Mooney" Allison, who also died Monday at the home. The couple observed their 51st wedding anniversary Aug. 3.
The service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, Hanover and Water streets, Glen Rock. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Viewing will be 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. The Geiple Funeral Home Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Allison was born Aug. 3, 1926, in Codorus Township. She was the daughter of the late Horace F. and Annie (Kerr) Gladfelter.
She worked for AMP Inc.'s Plastics Division in Glen Rock, retiring in 1985. Prior to that, she worked at the former Guy Hobbs Furniture Co. in Glen Rock and at several local sewing factories. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Arthur Hufnagel Glen Rock Library, Glen Rock Hose and Ladder Fire Company and Glen Rock Ambulance Club.
Mrs. Allison is survived by two sons, Jerry L. Allison of Dallastown and Jack L. Allison of New Freedom; five grandsons; a great-grandson; three sisters, Alleine M. Smith of Shrewsbury, Marian G. Ambrosius of Glenville RR 2 and Betty J. Taylor of Glen Rock; and a half-brother, Raymond Gladfelter. Mrs. Allison was preceded in death by a son, Christie L. Allison.
Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. Hugo Schroeder III.
