Alleine M. Smith

SHREWSBURY - Alleine M. (Gladfelter) Smith, 95, of the Barbara J. Egan Nursing Center, formerly of Codorus, died Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at the home. She was the wife of the late George P. Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, with her pastor, the Rev. Paula Murray, officiating. Burial will be in St. Jacob's (Stone) Church Cemetery, Glenville. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Smith was born on May 7, 1915, in Codorus Township, a daughter of the late Horace F. and Annie K. (Kerr) Gladfelter.
She was employed as a seamstress for many years at several local Southern York County sewing companies. She was a member of the St. Jacob's (Stone) Lutheran Church, Glenville, and was a resident of the Shrewsbury Lutheran Retirement Village community since 1992.
She is survived by four daughters, Sidney F. McWilliams and Tersie P. Krebs, both of Glen Rock, Linda L. Wise of York, and Donna L. Bollinger of Hanover; a son, Janna T. Smith of York; 23 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Marian Ambrosius of Glenville and Betty Taylor of York.
She was predeceased by a step-son, George E. Smith.
