After six weeks of sickness and pain, of lingering between life and death. Mrs. Rose DeHart passed quietly away about noon Monday. The news touched every heart with sadness. Death is a sad thing at any time of life, but when it comes to a woman in her youth, a young bride, a young mother, it is crueler. No wonder relatives are heart broken with grief. They have the sympathy of the entire community.
Rose Vallier was born in Bellevue, Iowa, September 26, 1870- the youngest of twelve children. At three years of age the family moved to Nebraska. On the road thither her father died. Four years ago they came to Rawlins County. She was married to J. F. DeHart July 1, 1888 and resided at McDonald until her death. She was a member of no church, but led an exemplary life and was respected and loved by all her acquaintances. On her death bed she made a profession of religion, and happy in her faith, cheerfully yielded to the unseen hand that led her away.
The burial occured at Blakeman, Kansas, Tuesday afternoon and was attended by a large concourse of friends.
To this union, one child was born, Floyd Harrison DeHart.
