Mrs. Mary Jane McCreery, pioneer of Rawlins County, died August 27, at the home of her son, Monta Smith at Loveland, Colo. where she had made her home the past two years.
Mrs. McCreery was born November 2, 1843, in New York state. She was 86 years, 9 months and 35 days of age. She came to Rawlins county in the early eighties, being engaged in the hotel business in McDonald for many years.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Mae Cooper, Los Angeles, Calif. and one son, Monta Smith, of Loveland, Colo. One son, W. L. Smith preceded her in death, July 8, 1927.
She leaves besides her daughter and son, a number of grandchildren to mourn her departure.
The funeral services were held at the Federated church last Friday afternoon and interment was made in the McDonald Cemetery.
