Son of Peter Vallier and Mary Brothers.

Married Cora Bell Smith, daughter of Austin Smith and Elizabeth "Betsey" Howe.

Alexander Vallier, a resident of Ashland for many years, died at late Friday afternoon, Jan. 11, at the family home here.

Mr. Vallier had been in failing health for many years. Prior to his illness, he had been down town nearly every day.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock, Monday afternoon, Jan. 14, at the Marcy Chapel. Rev. H. H. Utterback, pastor of the Ashland Christian Church, officiating.

Alexander Vallier was born at Bellevue, Iowa on Jan. 14, 1861 to Peter and Mary (Brothers) Vallier. Shortly after moving to Ashland, Ne he was united in marriage to Cora Belle Smith on March 1, 1887 at Wahoo, Nebraska.

To this union, three children were born, Nelson Vallier of Ingelwood, California; Merle Vallier of Ashland, Ne and Verda Vallier-Johnson of Ashland, Ne. Mrs. Vallier departed this life April, 1, 1944.

Mr. and Mrs. Vallier lived in this community their entire married life and were both members of the Ashland Christian Church. They had celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary prior to Mrs. Vallier's death.

Surviving are his son and two daughters; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren and one brother, Peter Vallier, who resides in Kansas
