Eleanore Joan Spradling, 82, of 1302 Lundy St., formerly of New Boston, died at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2003 at St. Mary's Hospital.

Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday at Hagi Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen's Church, the Rev. Jeffrey Lawrence officiating. Music will be provided by St. Stephen's grade school choir under the direction of JoAnn Cave. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Dean, Sean and Jonah Spradling and Adam Studnicki; and nephews: Randy and John Negray. Honorary pallbearers will be: Sean Michael and Delaney Spradling; and granddaughters: Sarah and Susan Studnicki, Shannon Ransom, and Monica Spradling.

She was born November 24, 1920 in Streator, a daughter of John and Anna (Bavolar) Negray. She married Carl Spradling on October 4, 1941 at St. Stephen's rectory. He died March 12, 2002.

Surviving are a daughter: Joan (David) Studnicki of Streator; sons: Gregg Spradling of Streator and Don Spradling of Montrose, Iowa; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; sisters: Matilda Peruba of Streator, Emma Bundy of LaCrescenta, California, and Leona Thornton of Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers: Robert Raymond, John and George Negray; and sisters: Mary Deminsky, Marcella Bute and Ann Felter.

She graduated from St. Stephen's grade school and Streator high school with the Class of 1939.

She had been employed at Thatcher Glass Company and Owens-Illinois Glass Company, and owned and operated a beauty shop in Streator.

She was a member of St. Stephen's Church.

She was a member of the Share Food Program and Bay Conservation Club, both in New Boston.
