Marcella R. Bute, 77, of Ottawa, a Streator native, died September 11, 2000 at the Ottawa Pavilion.

Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be: Troy R. Negray, Chad Arkenberg, Steven Gallick, Dennis Bute, Bryan Guenther and Keith Krystek.

She was born April 9, 1923 in Streator, a daughter of John A. and Anna (Bavolar) Negray. She married Carl Bute on Nov. 21, 1975 at St. Patrick's Church in Ottawa. He survives.

Also surviving are a son: Randall J. (Rose Ann) Negray of Streator; step-sons: Carl Bute of Hollowayville and Dennis (Ilse) Bute of Ottawa; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sisters: Matilda Peruba of Streator; Leona Thornton of Santa Fe, NM; Emma Bundy of La Crescenta, CA; and Eleanore (Carlos) Spradling of New Boston.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Mary Deminsky and Ann Felter; and brothers: George, John and Ray Negray.

She was employed by Union National Bank in Streator for 15 years. She retired from LaSalle County Treasurer's office in Ottawa.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Ottawa.
