John A. Negray, 91, of 614 E. Livingston Road, died at 5:25 p.m. Sunday in St. Mary's Hospital where he had been a patient for 12 days.

Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday at Solon Funeral Home. rosary will be recited at 7 o'clock. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Stephen's Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was born December 24, 1885 in Streator, a son of Andrew and Mary (Murcko) Negray. He married Anna Bavolar on October 9, 1905 in Old St. Stephen's church. The late Rev. John Hrech officiated at the ceremony. She died April 21, 1976.

Survivors are ten children: Mary Deminsky, Matilda Peruba, George, John Jr., Elanore (Carl) Spradling and Raymond, all of Streator, Marcella (Carl) Bute of Ottawa, Ann Felter of Las Vegas, New Mexico; Emma (Donn) Bundy of LaCrescenta, California and Leona (Clarence) Thornton of Tujunga, California; 24 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; a brother: George of Phoenix, Arizona; a half-brother: Andrew Katcher of Streator; and two half-sisters: Ann Fincham of San Diego, California and Sister Mary Bernilla of Streator.

He was preceded in death by his wife; three brothers: Charles, Frank and Michael Negray; a step-brother: Louis Katcher; a step-sister: Agnes Fowler; a grandson and a granddaughter.

Mr. Negray had resided in Streator all of his life. He was a coal miner for many years during his early life and was also employed by the Streator Clay Manufacturing Co. He was last employed by Anthony Co. retiring in 1948. He was a member of St. Stephen's Church and St. Clements Society.
