Winters, Tx. - Janie Wearden, 89, of Winters died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born September 15, 1922 in Rockwall, Texas and came to Runnels County at the age of two. She married Charles Wearden on November 11, 1939 in Winters. She worked at various jobs and was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors are 1 son and 3 daughters: Charles James Wearden and wife Ruby of Ballinger; Judy Nell Dorr and husband Willi of Fort Worth; Glenda Matthews and husband Jim of Abilene; Jodie O'Dell and husband Franklin Jr. of Winters; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Winters with Rev. Heath Powers officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery under the direction of the Winters Funeral Home.
