He came to Texas as a young man sometime in the 1890's, first settling in Denton County Texas then moving to Runnels Co sometime around 1928 and settling in the Drasco community. Will as he was known was a farmer and farmed until he retired in 1947 and moved to Winters.
Surivors include his wife Una Gay, two sons; Clarence of San Antonio, Ilis of Winters, five daughters: Mrs Charles Wearden of Winters, Mrs John Seaborn of Buffalo Gap, Mrs F M Seay of Lamesa, Mrs Josie Hughes and Mrs Beulah Boozer of Granbury, one brother Lewis J Simpson of Garland and several half brothers and sisters in Oklahoma, 26 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
