DODGEVILLE – Mrs. John (Stella) McGann, age 78, died on Wednesday, February 28, 1979, at a Dodgeville nursing home.

The former Stella Ryan was born on July 23, 1900 at Blue Mounds and spent most of her life in the Ridgeway area. She was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church, Ridgeway, and the Altar Sodality.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Ann Marie) Callahan and Mrs. Darrell (Mary Jean) Rounds, both of Madison, Mrs. Dean (Shirley) Murphy and Mrs. Robert (Caroline) Cullen of Ridgeway; two sons, John of Verona and William of Ridgeway; a sister, Mrs. Hazel Micka of Madison; 19 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband John, in 1968.

Funeral services were held at St. Bridget Catholic Church, Ridgeway, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 3. The Reverend Donald Moran officiated. Burial was in St. Bridget Cemetery. The Ayers Funeral Home, Ridgeway, was in charge.
