Mrs. Taylor died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2006, in Lubbock.
She was born April 23, 1911, in Haskell County. She married W.D. Taylor on April 28, 1934, in Ralls. He preceded her in death in 1988. She was a member of Broadway Church of Christ and a former member of Sunset Church of Christ. Jewel was a diligent servant of God and was instrumental in helping raise many children.
Survivors include: one son, Windall Taylor of Lubbock; three brothers, Darrell, Pete, and Dalto Mimms; three sisters, Claudia Porter, Jerrine Parks, and Doris Moorman; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
