Memorial services for Leona M. Blanton, 90, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005 at Franklin- Bartley Funeral Home.
She died Friday, Dec. 2, 2005.
Leona was born on March 5, 1915 in Dickens. She graduated from Ralls high school. She lived in Sunnyside for 40 years and taught Sunday school in Dimmitt and Earth.
She married Lloyd Melvin Blanton on Jan. 12, 1936 and he died in 1987 after 51 years together. He died in 1987. Leona moved to Lubbock in 1990. She was a homemaker and a member of Broadway Church of Christ.
Survivors include 2 sons, Terry of Black Canyon, Arizona and Randal and wife, Janie of Lubbock; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four sisters; and 4 brothers.
A son, Ronnie; a daughter, Linda Hoover; two great-grandchildren; 2 sisters and a brother preceded her in death.
