Obit: Mrs. E.N. Rhodes, 70, of Centerville, died at 12:40 a.m. at her home at 1501 South Main Street. She had been in failing health for three months and bedfast for at least seven weeks.
She was a resident of Mahaska County more than 50 years before coming to the county 1939. She was Elizabeth Ann Nevins before her marriage and was born in Monroe County August 1, 1869, the daughter of George W. and Eliza Jane Nevins and was one of a family of five.

She was married to Edwin N. Rhodes, February 14, 1887. She was preceded in death by two sons, one brother and one sister. She is survived by her husband, four daughters, Mrs. J.E. Hughes of Eddyville, Mrs. Milo Smith of Bussy, Mrs. Harry Malin and Mrs. Fred Malin both of Centerville, four sons, Cal Rhodes of Milwaukie, Oregon, Ivan of Oskaloosa, Arthur of Gard, Indiana and Cecil of Centerville, 28 grandchildren and two brothers.
The body is at the Beckner Funerial Home in Centerville where funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, in charge the Rev. Harvey C. Miller, pastor of the Church of Nazarene, Centerville. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery in Makaska County.
