RHOADES--John Ivan Rhoades, age 62, of 416 north Third Street, died Thursday night, Jan 14 at the Veteran's hospital in Des Moines after a stay of two days. He was a bridge and building carpenter for the railroad. A veteran of World War I, he had lived in Oskaloosa 22 years. Surviving are his wife, Pansy; one daughter, Ruby Darlene Rhoads of St. Paul, Minn,; two sons, Dean of Oskaloosa, a student at Iowa State College in Ames, and Dale, stationed with the navy at Long Beach, Calif. one grandchild; three brothers, Carl and Cecil Rhoades of Washington State, and Arthur Rhoades of Gary, Ind. and three sisters; Mrs. Milo Smith of Waukegan, Ill., Mrs. Minnie Hughes of Oskaloosa and Mrs. Haarry Malin of Centerville. Services are pending at Powers funeral home. 1-15-1960
