HUGHES--Mrs. Minnie Hughes, 76 of 502 South H. Street, died at Mahaska hospital at 2:40 pm Sunday. She was born Sept. 21, 1890 in Mahaska county, the daughter of Edwin Newton and Elizbeth Nevins Rhoads. Surviving are six daughter, Mrs. Vernon (Catherine) Mark of Lucas, Sister Mary Francella of Mundaline, Ill, Mrs Anthony (Dorothy) Celania, of Ottumwa, Mrs. Earl (Edith) McConley of Blakesburg, Miss Agness Hughes of Oskaloosa and Mrs. Cecil (Ester) Flander of Montezuma; two sone, William Hughes of Eddyville and Robert of Newton; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Malin of Centerville and Mrs. Grace Smith of Waukegan,Ill., two brothers; Arthur Rhoads of Chicago and Cecil of Portland,Ore; 37 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. Services at St. Mary's Catholic church at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning with Father Charles Mannhardt in charge. Burial in St. Mary' Cemetery. Rosary at 8 o'clock Tuesday evening at the Garland chapel.
