Floy Vivian Sterchi, 91, of Olney, went home to meet her Lord at 5:22 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Bent officiating. Burial will be in Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery in rural Claremont.

Mrs. Sterchi was born October 29, 1920, in Noble, the daughter of Russell and Edna (Rusk) Shan. She married Robert E. Sterchi on July 25, 1942, in the Old South Church in Boston, Mass. He survives.

She was a graduate of Brown Business College in St. Louis, Mo., and she and her husband owned and operated Bob Sterchi Carpet and Tile for 63 years. Mrs. Sterchi belonged to and held office in several local clubs, including the Business and Professional Women's Club, Garden Club, Clio Club, Rebecca Lodge, the NFSA class of the First Methodist Church, VFW Ladies Auxiliary and was a 50-plus-year member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. A lifetime member of the Methodist Church, she and her husband had attended Christian Church of Olney the last few years.

Mrs. Sterchi is survived by husband, Bob Sterchi, of Olney; daughter, Sharon Lee Waggoner and husband, Dee, of Claremont; grandson, David Dee Waggoner and wife Deborah, of Claremont; great-grandson, Dalton Dee Waggoner, of Claremont; great-grandson, Kody Lee Waggoner, of Paris,; sister, Carol Peters, of St. Paul, Minn.; sister, Janet Miller and husband, Ray of Robinson; brother, Jerry Shan and wife, Marilyn, of Noble; brother, Steve Shan and wife, Arletta, of Olney; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Edna Shan; son, Russell "Sonny" Sterchi; brothers, Jimmy Shan and John Shan; and sisters, Elaine Shan, Carmen Hogue and Betty McKnight.

She will be sadly missed by family, dear friends and neighbors.

Memorials may be made to Olney Garden Club.
