Sharon Lee Waggoner, 68, of Claremont, died Thursday January 3, 2013 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.

Sharon was born on October 4, 1944 in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Robert Eugene and Floy Vivian (Shan) Sterchi. She married Darrell Dee Waggoner on January 7, 1967 at First United Methodist Church in Olney.

Sharon graduated from East Richland High School in 1962 where she was in the marching band and mixed choir. In 1961 she was crowned Miss Richland County Fair Queen and went onto the State Finals where she finished in the top ten. She met her beloved husband Darrell Dee and they enjoyed 45 years of marriage together. Sharon enjoyed farming and owning and racing thoroughbred horses with her husband Dee. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, Darrell Dee Waggoner of Claremont; Son, David Dee Waggoner of Claremont; Grandson, Dalton Dee Waggoner of Claremont; Grandson, Kody Lee Waggoner of Paris, IL; Aunt, Janet Miller of Robinson, IL; Aunt, Carol Peters of St. Paul, MN; Uncle, Jerry Shan of Noble, IL; Uncle, Steve Shan of Olney; Sister-in-law, Beverly Dietz and family of Claremont; Brother-in-law, Larry Waggoner and family of Claremont.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Russell "Sonny" Sterchi.
