. Russell L. Shan, 85, Noble, died at 2:30 a.m. Friday in Richland Memorial Hospital.
. Services will be Monday at Summers Funeral Home in Olney, with Rev. John Cox presiding. Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial is in Noble Cemetery.
. He was born in Decker Township on April 18, 1894, son of Harry and Clora (Donat) Shan. He married Edna Rusk on June 14, 1917, who died on Nov. 17, 1975. He was a farmer and a member of the Noble Methodist Church.
. He is survived by three sons, John, Olney, Steve and Jerry, both of Noble; five daughters, Mrs. Robert (Floy) Sterchi, Mrs. Lee (Carmen) Houge, and Mrs. Kent (Betty) McKnight, all of Olney, Mrs. Glenn (Carol) Peters, St. Paul, Minn., and Mrs. Raymond (Janet) Miller, Robinson, two sisters, Mrs. Marie Sager, Noble, Mrs. Daisy Muhlbach, Golden Beach, Fla., 15 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a daughter, Dorothy Elaine, and a son, James Russell.
