Funeral services for Mavis Murel Ward, 66, of Elmore City, will be conducted Sat. March 14, at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church. Rev. Mayhue and Rev. Pat Layne will officiate. Interment will be in Katie Cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral HOme.
Ward was born Feb. 26, 1926 in Elmore City. She passed away March 11, 1992 in Elmore City. Her church membership was with the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and piecing and making quilts.
Surviving are her husband Bill of the home: two daughters, Shirley Ward, of the home and Mary Neal, Elmore City. One son Kenny Ward, Elmore City, one granddaughter, two brothers, Ray Pickens,Roseburg, Ore., and Calvin Pickens, Myrtle Creek, Ore. three sisters, Melba Abshure, Elmore City, Jean Starling, Troutville, Ore. and Glenda Moore, Porterville, Calif.
She was preceded in death by one grandson in 1980 and one brother G.W. Pickens in 1990.
