This is my Paternal Grandfather who resided both in the Garvin County, OK and Roseburg, Oregon areas during his life in both the Farming/Agriculture and Logging industries. He is noted in the 1960 Lawton, Oklahoma phone book while living at 510 H Ave, along with spouse Winnie J. His profession is listed as an attendant, APCO Service. He passed away at the age of 63 of Cardiovascular disease.

"Earl Pickens, 63, died Tuesday in a Waurika hospital.

Pickens was born in Stratford on September 9, 1903 and had lived in the Elmore City vicinity for a number of years.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Elmore City with Rev. Joseph Seecrist of Lawton officiating. Burial will be in the Elmore City Cemetery under the direction of the Vaughn Funeral Home.

Surviving Pickens are four daughters, Melba Abshure, Bismark,ND. Mavis Ward, Maysville. Gean Starling, Portland, OR. and Glenda Wright, Porterville, CA. Three sons, Roy, Roseburg, Ariz, G.W. Waurika and Calvin, Mirtle Creek, Ariz. six brothers Lewis, Loyd, and Reford, Lawton, Delbert, Porterville, CA. and Roy of Lawton, four sisters Alice Priest, Marlow. Mildred Makin, Oklahoma City, Jenavive Frates, Bethany and Neva Landers, Lawton. 28 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
