William T. Simpson died in Jackson, Miss., January 25, after a painful illness of three weeks'. He was 31 years old, was born in Madison County, Ala., where he lived till 1873, when he emigrated to Mississippi, from thence to Jefferson County, Ark., where he remained till his last illness. His brothers desiring the treatment of eminent physicians, carried him to Jackson, Miss. Human skill proved unavailing. Death claimed him as his own. He occupied a high position in the confidence of the people, was one of the rising young men of the country, and leaves a host of friends and relatives to lament his untimely death."
