On Jul 14, 1870, married M D L Vantine, one of the most early settlers in the Star Valley Community, north of Pease River and southwest of Medicine Mound.

She originally came from Missouri, as stated in one family history. This may be in error as she was born in IL.

Children: Viola Josphine Vantine Easley, Leonora H, who died in youth, John Logan, William (Bill) Boland , Leota Iola, James (Jim) Theodore, Annie N, and Edgar.

From Quanah Tribune Chief, Vol. 19, No. 35, Thursday, June 10, 1909, page 5:

Mrs. M. D. L. Vantine died Sunday night and was buried the next day at Big Valley. She had been an invalid for the past year, having received a paralytic stroke from which she never recovered.
