Mrs. Katherine Abbe, a highly respected resident of this community, passed away at the Memorial hospital in Waseca, Saturday morning, at about 1:00 o'clock, aged 68 years. The deceased had been ill for the past two weeks, suffering with heart trouble and had been in the hospital since Thursday.
Mrs. Abbe's maiden name was Katherine Buker and she was born in Reed township, Clayton County, Iowa. She came to Steele county with her parents when a child and grew to womanhood here. Her marriage to Louis Abbe took place on July 4th, 1888. They were the parents of eight children, six of whom are living. They are: Alvin, John and Arthur Abbe, Mrs. Ernest Abbe, Mrs. Ernest Schroeder, all of this vicinity. Besides her immediate family, she is also survived by 16 grandchildren, one brother, Wm. Buker, her mother, Mrs. Henry Buker and two sisters Mrs. Fred Lawin and Mrs. Julius Sommers.
