Mary Leona Jackson Byrd, 91, of 143 Pate St., died March 1, 2007, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
The graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at New Hollywood Cemetery, the Rev. George Connor officiating.
She was preceded in death by her parents, C.C. Jackson and Nancy Cannon Jackson; her husband, Carson Thomas Byrd Sr.; three daughters, Doris Byrd, Nancy Byrd and Shelby Jean Pittman; a son, Billy Thomas Byrd; a daughter-in-law, Lynda Byrd; three brothers, Ivory, Charles and Elbert Jackson; and three sisters, Delma Walker, Dorothy Malette and Ruthen Avery.
Surviving are four sons, Carson Thomas Byrd Jr. of Tennessee, Kenneth Byrd and his wife, Judy, and J.T. Byrd and his wife, Joy, all of Lumberton, and Michael Byrd of Puyallup, Wash.; three daughters, Peggy Smith and her husband, Wade, of Fairmont, Sandra Bailey and Diane Blackwell, both of Lumberton; two brothers, Dennis Jackson of Fuquay-Varina and Stancil Jackson of Alaska; four sisters, Nina Grimsley of Lumberton, Dessie Cox of Bladenboro, Nellie Richardson of Chadbourn and Evelyn Byrd of Fayetteville; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Byrd of Lumberton; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Floyd Mortuary and Crematory in Lumberton and at other times at the home of J.T. and Joy Byrd, 1106 E. 14th St., Lumberton.
