He was born in Clark county, Ohio, Feb. 6, 1830, and came with his parents to Elkhart county in 1833. In 1855 he located in White county, where he was united in marriage with Miss Rachel C. Baum, September 24, 1857. He remained a resident of White county until March 1, 1904, when he moved to Logansport to reside with his son. Mr. Cornell united with the New School Dunkard church about 43 years ago, at Pious school house, of which church he was still a member at the time of his death.
His wife, one son and two daughters survive him. His remains were brought to Idaville and laid to rest in the Shafer cemetery Thursday, after a funeral service at the Church of God conducted by Rev. Wm. McCorkle of this place.
