Margaret Davis, 83, of Tonkawa, OK, died Tuesday, Aug 29, 2006 at her home.

She was born Oct 26, 1922 in Briceville to Walter Lee and Cora Emily (Hawkins) Sharp.

Margaret married Walter Cooper in 1938 and worked at Oak Ridge during the war.

Walter preceded her in death in 1946. After his death, she and her three small children moved to Washington state where she worked in a fruit cannery. There she met and married Ralph Davis on Jan 7, 1947 in Leavenworth, WA and he preceded her in death on Feb 28, 2005. They moved to Tonkawa from Washington in 1949. Margaret worked as a cook at Mary's Tonkawa Grill for many years. She also worked at Jack's and Ben's Restaurant. Later in life, she worked several years at the Tonkawa Foundry, retiring in 1985. After retiring, she and her husband enjoyed searching for antiques and going to flea markets. She loved traveling and gardening, but most of all, she loved her family and loved cooking big meals for them.

Preceded in death by her husband of 58 years; Ralph Davis; parents; infant son, David; sister, Anna Lou; brothers, Vestal, Bufford, and Walter Sharp; one infant granddaughter; one infant great grandson.

Survivors: children; Bill Cooper and wife, Mary of Dallas, TX, Jerry Cooper of Blackwell, OK, Wilma (Cooper) VanHook of Enid, OK, Janice (Davis) Kenemore and her husband, Terry of Wellington, KS; brothers, Roy, Verlin, and Richard Sharp, all of TN; her sister, Evelyn Austin of TN; eight grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; numerous nieces
and nephews.

Funeral services were at 2 PM Friday, Sep 1, 2006 in the Dugger Funeral Home chapel in Tonkawa, OK with Dr Richard Thomasson officiating.

Interment followed in the IOOF Cemetery in Tonkawa, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of Dugger Funeral Home in Tonkawa, OK.
