Evelyn Austin, age 81, of Lake City, passed away Sept. 27 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She was born Dec. 6, 1924 in Anderson County to the late Walter Lee and Cora Hawkins Sharp. She was a member of the Fratersville Baptist Church. She loved flowers, drawing, gardening, and she especially loved spending time with her family and friends.She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond B. Austin; brothers, Walter Lee Jr., Vestal and Buford Sharp, sisters, Anna Lou Bray and Margaret DavisShe is survived by her daughter, Linda West and husband, Troy of Lake City; brothers, Roy Sharp and wife, Joyce of Lake City, Richard Sharp and wife, Faye of Lake City, Verlin Sharp and wife, Bonnie of Lake City; grandson, Scott West and wife, Becky of Lake City; great grandson, Aaron West of Caryville; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services were held Sept. 29 in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Dabney officiating. Interment was in the Oak Grove Cemetery.Hatmaker Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
