Obituary from POST REGISTER (IDAHO FALLS, ID) - 14 JUNE 2003:
GRANT - Carol Jessie Hilton Christensen, 83, of Grant, died June 12, 2003, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
She was born December 9, 1919, in Darlington to William Price Fullmer Jr. and Fannie Verona Whiting Fullmer. She attended schools in Menan, Lost River and Midway High School. She then attended Ricks College and graduated in 1941 with an associate's degree, and then in 1955, she earned her bachelor's degree and did graduate work at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
On April 8, 1942, she married Clyde Jensen Hilton in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple; he preceded her in death April 11, 1945, while serving in World War II. On March 12, 1966, she married George Cornelius Christensen in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on January 28, 1977.
She taught elementary school in Moore, and then in the Jefferson County School District for 32 years. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served a mission to the New Zealand Temple, as stake and ward Young Women's President, as a temple officiator for 15 years and typed Patriarchal blessings for two patriarchs.
Her passion in teaching was to make children feel important and give them a love for reading.
She is survived by a stepdaughter, Maurine (Zane) Hall of Idaho Falls; a daughter-in-law, Sandy (Dale) Yates of Centerville, Utah; a sister, Mrs. Glenna Pearson of Idaho Falls; two granddaughters, Wendy Hilton of Springville, Utah; Andrea Hilton of North Salt Lake, Utah; 14 step-grandchildren, 62 step-great-grandchildren; and 11 step-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Clyde Hilton; both husbands; and 15 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, at the Grant 1st Ward LDS Chapel, 3431 E. 100 N., in Rigby, with Bishop Dennis Merrill officiating. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery. Arrangements are by Eckersell Funeral Home.
