Obituary from POST REGISTER (IDAHO FALLS, ID) - 21 AUGUST 1999:
RIGBY - Norris Fullmer, 86, of Menan, Idaho, died August 18, 1999, at his home.
He was born March 31, 1913, at Wallsburg, Utah, to William Price Fullmer Jr. and Fannie Verona Whiting Fullmer. He attended schools in Darlington, Idaho, and graduated as valedictorian of his eighth grade class at Menan Elementary School. He then went to Midway high School.
On March 4, 1938, he married Donna Scott in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.
He farmed in the Menan area. He raised registered and certified seed grain for more than 50 years and took pride in all he did. He served as president of the Idaho Food Producers, as president of the Upper Valley Sugar Beet Growers Association, on the Farm Bureau Idaho Small Grain Committee, and as vice president of the Idaho Purebred Sheep Breeders Association. He was inducted into the Eastern Idaho Agricultural Hall of Fame in 1996 and was the Jefferson County Conservation Farmer of the Year.
An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served as superintendent of the MIA, and Sunday School, as secretary to the stake Aaronic Priesthood presidency, as a Gospel Doctrine Class teacher, as a member of the Menan LDS 1st Ward bishopric, and was a faithful home teacher.
He enjoyed fishing, reciting poetry, performing in plays and being involved in politics.
He also enjoyed gardening and attending cattle sales. He loved his family and grandchildren and taught them by his example of honesty, integrity and generosity to others.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Fullmer of Menan; two daughters, Beverly Bishop (Ray) of Orem, Utah, and Elaine Taylor (Charles) of Rigby; five sons, Lyle Fullmer (Angie) of Cologne, Germany, Ross Fullmer, Dean Fullmer (Marlene) and Boyd Fullmer, all of Menan, and Scott Fullmer (Christina) of Idaho Falls; three sisters, Margaret Barlow of Pocatello, Carol Christensen of Grant and Glenna Pearson of Idaho Falls; one brother, Mack Fullmer of West Valley City, Utah; 32 grandchildren; and 37 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and seven sisters.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a. m. at the Menan LDS 1st Ward Chapel with Bishop John R. Poole officiating. The family will meet with friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p. m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main, Rigby, and Monday from 9:30 to 10:45 a. m. at the church. Burial will be in the Annis-Little Butte Cemetery.
