FUNERAL SERVICES HELD
Prayer Held at Home of Son in East Arlington
The funeral services for Mrs. Armanella Miner Clark, who died in Kissimmee, Fla., Monday, March 11, were held on Friday. A prayer service conducted by Rev. Bristol Chatterton was held at the home of her son, Mincer C. Clark, in East Arlington at 1 o'clock. Rev. Charles Sturgess officiated at the service in Walbridge Funeral Home at 2:30 in Bennington.
Mrs. Clark was born in Windsor, Mass., July 13, 1870, a daughter of Ephraim Addison and Josephine Shaw Miner. After serving as a teacher in the public schools of her native town, she came to Bennington where a position awaited her with the Valentine Knitting company. Here she was employed until her marriage on October 12, 1892, at her parents home in Windsor, Mass. to William C. Clark, son of the late John C. Clark of this town. They made their home on Grove street where she continued to reside until 1937.
Her service was not limited to her family for as long as her health permitted she was an active worker in the religious and social life of the community. She was a member of the Methodist church and the leader of Gage street circle of that church for eight years. She also held offices in several fraternal and patriotic organizations.
Since she sold her home she had lived with her children, spending the winter in Florida. Due to a motor accident while on her way home last spring, she was unable to return north. She endured the months of pain and suffering that followed with her usual patience and fortitude. In January she recovered sufficiently to return to Florida where for a month she was able with the help of her daughter and brother, to visit points of historic interest and natural beauty she always enjoyed.
She was confined to her bed in her final illness only 10 days, her condition not critical until near the end.
Mrs. Clark is survived by two sons, Miner of East Arlington and Marshall of Springfield, Mass, two daughters, Carolyn of Bennington and Mrs. Carl Reynolds (Josephine) of Hinsdale, Mass., and nine grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Jesse A. Miner of Hinsdale, Mass., three sisters, Mrs. Martha Miner Stebbins of Millers Falls, Mass.; Mrs. Linda Miner Burnett of Adams, Mass; Mrs. Howes (Mary) of Swift River, Mass., and several nephews and nieces.
Relations and friends were present from Orange, Millers Falls, Springfield, Swift River, Hinsdale, Dalton, Cheshire, Adams, North Adams, Blackinton and Cummington, Mass.; also from Arlington and Shaftsbury.
The bearers were nephews, Lionel and Ronald Burnett, Raphael Milton and Stebbins Howes and Harold Miner.
