Penelope Hayter Anderson, 84, passed away Monday, January 5, 2004, in Nacogdoches, Texas. A private graveside service will be held in her honor.

Mrs. Anderson was born January 16, 1919 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Samuel Buford Hayter and Penelope Martin Hayter.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Penelope Hayter; Elizabeth Montgomery and Buford Bell; and brother Sam B. Hayter, Jr.

Survivors include husband, Guy Townsend Anderson of Nacogdoches; son, Jeff Anderson of Nacogdoches; daughters, Elisabeth Early Anderson of Nacogdoches and Brook Anderson Hutter and husband, Doug of Beaumont; grandson, Jon Yates; granddaughters, Penelope Hayter Anderson and Marjorie Lauren Anderson; two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her honor can be made to the Guy Townsend Anderson, Jr. Memorial Acolyte Fund at the Christ Episcopal Church, 502 E. Starr Ave.
