Jefferson Hayter Anderson, age 70, passed away in Nacogdoches after a long battle with cancer on Monday, December 25, 2023. He was born January 27, 1953, in Nacogdoches to parents Guy Townsend Anderson and Penelope (Hayter) Anderson.

Mr. Anderson attended the University of Texas and was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He owned several local restaurants including Smokehouse, Bayou Teche, and Homestead. He enjoyed fishing and cooking. A man with a wonderful sense of humor, he was a great dad and a protector of his daughters. He and his family were members of Christ Episcopal Church, Nacogdoches.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Early Anderson; and brother, Guy Anderson, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer (Jones) Anderson; daughters, Penelope Hayter Anderson and Marjorie Lauren Anderson; sister, Brooke Anderson; and granddaughter, Ava Claire Anderson.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Oak Grove Cemetery in Nacogdoches.
