Guy Townsend Anderson, 85, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2004, in Nacogdoches, Texas.

A private graveside service will be held in his honor.

Mr. Anderson was born March 9, 1918, in Calvert, Texas, to Guy Anderson and Missy Westbrook Anderson. He was married to Penelope Hayter Anderson for 62 years. They met at the University of Texas where he received a degree in petroleum engineering. Penelope was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority, and Guy was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. He was a lieutenant colonel in the United States Air Force and served our country as a pilot during World War II. Mr. Anderson was self-employed and also served as a trustee for the Sam B. Hayter Trust for twenty-eight years.

He is preceded in death by wife, Penelope Hayter Anderson; son, Guy Anderson Jr.; and his parents.

Survivors include son, Jeff Anderson of Nacogdoches, Texas; daughters, Elisabeth Early Anderson of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Brook Anderson Hutter of Beaumont, Texas; grandson, Jon Yates; granddaughters, Penelope Hayter Anderson and Marjorie Lauren Anderson; and two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his honor can be made to the Guy Townsend Anderson Jr. Memorial Acolyte Fund at Christ Episcopal Church, 502 E. Starr Ave., Nacogdoches, Texas 75961.
