Lucinda Jane Gillett was the daughter of C Marcus Gillett 1781 and Lucinda Manchester. (Her parents are buried in the Wellwood cemetery in Mexico).
She was born and grew up in Middlefield, Otsego County, New York. There she met and married Selah Pratt 1816, the son of Thomas Pratt 1796 and Louisa Anna Jones, on Jan 1, 1837.
By 1840 the couple moved to Mexico, Oswego County, New York, along with her parents family.
Selah Pratt was a blacksmith in Mexico. He moved to Oswego City Ward 3 by 1860 with his family.
Selah and Lucinda had two children, Eliza Jane Pratt 1838, and Purley Jay Pratt 1944. After Selah died in 1875, Lucinda continued to live with her children. Both children lived all of their lives with the family.
