Funeral services for Nelson A. Oberhoff, 74, of Needville will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19 at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Needville. The Rev. Fred Banda will officiate the services. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18 at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel, 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd., FM 2218 at Highway 59 in Rosenberg.
Nelson was born Feb. 19, 1928 in Needville to Fritz Oberhoff and Selma Tielke Oberhoff, and he passed away Sept. 16, 2002 in Houston. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Laverne Oberhoff; his parents, Fritz and Selma Oberhoff; three brothers, Ernst, Edwin and Gilbert Oberhoff and his father-in-law, John Stehle. Nelson is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Anna Oberhoff of Needville; his daughters, Debbie Stern and her husband, John, of Needville and Donna Moody and her husband, Rusty, of Needville; step-daughters, Barbara Wleczyk and Butch Stolarsky of Needville and Jane Teykl and her husband, Don, of Rosenberg; a step-son, David Sopchak of Needville; brothers, Eric Oberhoff and his wife, Anita, Albin Oberhoff and his wife, Ruby Lee, Ervin "Shorty" Oberhoff and his wife, Evelyn and Henry Lee Oberhoff and his wife, Lenora; his mother-in-law, Lillian Stehle; a brother-in-law, Arthur Stehle and his wife, Jackie; sisters-in-law, Eddie Ruth Oberhoff, Ester Oberhoff and Effie Oberhoff; his grandchildren, Keli Teykl and her fiance, Ronny Smith of Richmond, Amber Teykl, Jared and Kaysie Pasteka, 11 step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
