Funeral services for Albin Henry (Buster)Oberhoff, 88, of Needville, TX, are set for 3:00 PM Sunday, March 13, 2011, at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 9018 Church Street, Needville, TX 77461, with Rev. George Kuebler officiating. Burial will follow in IUCC Church Cemetery, Needville, TX.

Visitation will be 5-7:00 PM Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Chapel, 3103 School Street, Needville, TX 77461.

Albin Oberhoff was born December 1, 1922, in Needville, TX, to Fritz Oberhoff and Selma Tielke Oberhoff. He was the fourth of eight boys born to this family. He died March 10, 2011, in Richmond, TX. Albin proudly served his country in WW II in the US Army. On December 28, 1943, he married Ruby Lee Warncke. Mr. Oberhoff worked for Westinghouse Electric Corporation for 42 years, retiring in 1985. He was a longtime member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Needville, and a member of American Legion Post 350, Needville, TX. Some of his greatest loves were spending time with family, polka dancing, gardening, and generously sharing the produce of his garden with neighbors and friends. He will be fondly remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great great grandfather.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 67 years, Ruby Lee Warncke Oberhoff; 4 children: Ray Oberhoff and wife, Cheri, and their children, Dale Oberhoff and wife, Jackie, and Dena Dick and husband, David; Judy Gajeske and husband, Larry, and their daughter, Kimberly Pounds and husband, John Robert (Trey) Pounds III; Donald Oberhoff and wife, Elizabeth (Libby), and their children, Dr. Scott Oberhoff and wife, Stephanie, Mark Oberhoff and wife, Mary, and Beth Lueckemeyer and husband, Matthew; Shirley Nordt and husband, Marvin, and their children, Travis Nordt and Taylor Nordt; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; brother, Erwin Oberhoff and wife, Evelyn; sisters-in-law, Eddie Ruth Oberhoff, Esther Oberhoff, Anita Oberhoff, Lenora Oberhoff, and Effie Oberhoff; and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by brothers, Ernst, Edwin, Eric, Henry Lee, Nelson, and Gilbert Oberhoff; and sisters-in-law, LaVerne Oberhoff and Ann Oberhoff.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Dale Oberhoff, Dr. Scott Oberhoff, Mark Oberhoff, Travis Nordt, Taylor Nordt, John Robert (Trey) Pounds III, Matthew Lueckemeyer, and David Dick, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Patrick Warncke and the Needville American Legion Post.

Memorials may be given in his memory to Immanuel United Church of Christ, 9018 Church Street, Needville, TX 77461.
