Mrs. Ruby Faye Hutcherson Sherwood, 82, of Olive Branch, Miss., died Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at her residence.

Services were held at noon Thursday at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel in Dresden with Dr. Don McCulley officiating. Burial was in Sunset Cemetery.

Frank Shanklin, Dickie Hutcherson, Paul Hutcherson, Rick Shelton, Mike Welch and Sammy Hutcherson served as pallbearers.

Mrs. Sherwood was born Dec. 3, 1928 in Dresden, daughter of the late Asa Clois and Onie Mae Mosley Hutcherson. She was the widow of Elverner "Buck" Sherwood. She worked in quality control for Kellogg's Cereal and was a member of First Baptist Church, Dresden.

Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Wanda and Phill Sheffield of Olive Branch and Lynn Cole of Collierville; and two grandchildren, Deena Shelton and Jennifer Welch, both of Memphis. A step daughter, Cheryl Shaw of Las Vegas and two step grandchildren, Steven and Phil Shaw also of Las Vegas, NV. Three step great grandchildren, Caitlin, Natalie and Jeff Shaw of Las Vegas, NV.

She was also preceded in death by one sister, Lula Mae Shanklin; and four brothers, Elbert Hoyt Hutcherson, Herman Wade Hutcherson, Gaither Dale Hutcherson and Roy Hutcherson.
