Buck Sherwood, 81, of Olive Branch, MS, died Tuesday, April 21, 1998 at 12:45 am at his residence.

Visitation was at Forest Hill South in Memphis on Wed. April 22, 1998, then his body was moved to Sunset Cemetery in Dresden, TN where he was laid to rest on April 23, 1998 with Dr. Don McCulley officiating.

Mr. Sherwood was born Nov. 27, 1916 just outside of McKenzie, TN. He was the son of Erby and Vera Sherwood of McKenzie.
Mr. Sherwood worked for the Milan, TN Arsenal for a while before entering the Navy on May 17, 1943. He served in WWII on a ship as a Gunners mate and was honorably discharged on Dec. 17, 1945.
He then worked as a mechanic for Armour Foods, White Stone Company and the City of Memphis until his retirement.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Dresden, TN.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Faye Hutcherson Sherwood, two daughters, Lynn Cole of Germantown, TN and Wanda Sheffield of Memphis, TN and a daughter Cheryl Shaw of Las Vegas, NV, four grandchildren, Deena Shelton of Memphis, Jennifer Nelson of Memphis, Steve and Phil Shaw of Las Vegas.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Sherwood of McKenzie and a sister, Lucille Baker of Scottsboro, AL.
