James Floyd Bruton

James Floyd Bruton, 93, retired rural mail carrier, died April 26 at St. Lukes Hospital in Wellington.

He was a veteran of World War I and had been a resident of Wellington since 1917.

He was born May 6, 1895 at Bellefonte, Ark., the son of William Price and Sarah Jane (Coulter) Bruton. He married Flossie M. Smith Jan. 25, 1921 in Wellington. She preceded him in death Sept. 15, 1983.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the American Legion and was a past member of the BOPE and Masons.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Frank Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Reader officiating. Interment will be in Sumner Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include a son, Roger L. of Englewood, Colo. and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother and four sisters.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. tomorrow and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday.
