The first week in June 1895 Frank was in a serious accident when a horse fell on top of him which left him with internal injuries. The paper mentions that he was unable to get out of bed for two months before he finally went to Portland in such a weakened state no one thought he would rally. He was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in Portland for surgery on August 25, 1895. He had to be carried off the waft when he returned on September 21st, but he rapidly recovered after that.
He married at the age of 34 on April 28, 1907 in Washington to Nancy Eleanor Fuller age 23. They started their family in Fishhook, Franklin County, Washington where Frank worked as a Stockman. All the children were born in Washington. The family had lived in Connell, Walla Walla, and Leavenworth, Washington before bringing his family back to The Dalles, Oregon. In 1920 Frank is now working at the Cannery. His oldest son, Alden, passed away in 1926 at the age of 17 in Salem, Oregon from Diphtheria. They brought him home and buried him in the IOOF Cemetery.
1930 census find Frank working as a caretaker for the State Hospital. At the time the Oregon State Tuberculosis Sanitarium was here in The Dalles and this maybe where he was working at taking care of the lawn (was located by the Columbia Gorge Community College). They bought a home on West 10th street in The Dalles and by the 1940 Census all the children have grown and moved out of the house. Frank is listed as a labor worker and Nancy in a private home doing laundry.
Obituary in paper mentions “Death came to a son of a Pioneer family after a short illness. Life –Long resident of the community Francis H Williams.” Frank died November 24, 1950, he was 77 years old.
