Ida Mae Williams was born in 1864 the third child of fourteen to William Henry and Amanda (Abbott) Williams. She was the first daughter born to the family and the first child to be born in Wasco County on the Eight Mile ranch. Most the girls attended school through the eighth grade. We find her in only two censuses, both before she was married.
She married John L Bradley on September 8, 1883 on the Ranch she was raised on at Eight Mile. John was a farm hand at his brother’s ranch and a neighbor of the Williams. Alonzo Woodcock and Louis Klinger both signed as witnesses, also neighbors. They started their family there in Eight Mile before taking up and moving on to make their own future. Ida would have a child every other year for the next 12 years. The youngest daughter Veva was born in Yamhill County in 1895 and Ida passed away in 1897, (according to family historian records), she was just 33 years old. She was the first of the fourteen children to pass away.

Corvallis Times just says : “Mrs. Bradley - February 6, 1897”.

The Dalles Times Mountaineer Says: “Mrs. J. L. Bradley dies at Junction City February 1, 1897 and was buried at that place. She was the daughter of Mr. W. H. Williams of Eight Mile & raised in Dufur. She leaves a husband & six children. (February 16, 1897)

The youngest child Vera came to live with her grandparents for a time on the eight mile ranch before joining the family again. Ida would be proud to know all her children lived long lives and left her many descendants. Besides her husband John she left behind six children, two sons; Jessie Clinton Bradley and Jay James Bradley and four daughters; Ava Meda Bradley married Louis Rear, Nellie Grace Bradley married Lewis Vincent, Veva May Bradley married Harvey Skelton, and Vera Maude Bradley married Lance Skelton.
