Hazel Lea Creighton was born on Eight Mile Creek out of The Dalles, Oregon to William Henry Williams and Amanda (Abbott) Williams. She was the twelve children born of fourteen to this couple. There were seven brothers and six sisters. She grew up on the farm at Eight Mile and there is mention in the paper of the picnic gatherings on the farm there.
She met Charles Crawford Creighton the son of Sam and Sarah (Smith) Creighton; they were married August 19, 1899 in Wasco County, Oregon. Hazel at this time was eighteen, Charles was twenty-one. They started their family on Three Mile Creek on the family farm with Charles's family. The couple takes over the farm on Three Mile and lived the rest of their lives in that vicinity. They were both active members of the Wasco County Pioneer Association. Charles passed away in 1953 after 54 years of marriage. Hazel would pass away almost three years later on May 18, 1956 in The Dalles, Oregon at the age of 73.
She left two sons; Hugh and Clair both living in The Dalles at this time and five grandchildren. Of the eleven brothers and sister she had, only four survive her, sisters; Hester Harris of Ontario, Oregon and Clara Williams of The Dalles, Oregon and brothers; Clyde Williams of Yakima, Washington and Lewis Williams of Pendleton, Oregon.
