She was the third daughter (8th child) of Frank Emerson & Nellie May Louiza [Laws] Snyder. Very proud of her family, her country and a strong believer in doing what was right without complaint. Married daddy at age 15, Donovan Vernel Elliott, 9-2-1939, had two children. As a teen Dad had rheumatic fever, it damaged his heart. Mom went to work at a time when women did not work-to help with medical expenses, as daddy was in and out of hospitals often. He passed 1-14-1960. She married Donald 'Poppie' Lee Clark 7-3-1960 with two boys, their mother had died of cancer. Don wanted to trace his American Indian heritage so they both became Genealogy addicts. Don's job sent them to Canada for 3 years; to England where they traveled to Wales, Scotland and Ireland... she even kissed the Blarney Stone! Lost Poppie 10-17-1976 to a massive heart attack. Married James Carlton French 8-11-1979, lost him to a brain tumor 3-24-1993. She felt she was bad luck, but we always felt because of her they lived longer than they would have, and they would not have had it any different. She took very good care of them and because of that care our father, Donovan, survived 10 years longer than the doctors expected after having open heart surgery. She was a hard worker, took care of our father & his mother, Poppie's mother & father, her father & stepmother and Jim and did it all with love and patience. The great grandkids called her 'GG' for Great Grandma, and she loved it, she loved them, she loved us. She was diagnosed with cancer of the spine in Oct., died of Leukemia in Dec. She was always smiling, a true Lady and yet there was a bubbly teen in her until the end; you could see it in her beautiful green eyes as they sparkled and danced. Her love was absolutely unconditional, and We miss her dearly every day. Her burial was 12-28-1998.
