Arthur is not dead, he is still among the LIVING. Bud was his Uncle and Art, being a bachelor, took care of him for many years after Bud's wife died, it kept Art's mother from worrying about her brother. When Bud died Arthur designed the headstone and did the artwork and verse, thinking after all the years of caring for Bud he would be buried beside his uncle so added himself. Since then, Arthur has married and is living happily with his spouse.
He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict in Korea. In my younger days he was called Ike, then it changed to Art, because he was always painting or drawing. He sold many of his paintings but kept a huge number saying they were his children.
He was a janitor for many years and was great with the children attending the school. He would set up the bulletin boards in rooms for each holiday or special occasion and the teachers loved it as much as he enjoyed doing it.
He loved attending various functions in Hollywood and Los Angeles, the plays, musicals, etc. and many times would get my mother to join him. It was great for both of them. His home was always a show place with usually two or three tables complete with dishes displayed in the kitchen, living room and den. He is very artistic, loves colors and always changing the walls. He painted but also used beautiful sheets as wallpaper. He loves traveling and visiting churches in the different cities & countries. He has shoes for each outfit and usually carries a separate suitcase just for his shoes.
He is very special.

Thank you for the photos.

Beloved Son of Frank & Nellie Snyder

This is my Name in Granite Etched,
It is I who is out stretched,
Just my Name Ye may know!
All the rest to Dust will go,
God will know my Soul and Needs,
He will Judge me for all my Deeds.
