Dydren Alexander Pope and brother Rev. John W. Pope lists Cyrus W. Pope's birth as 30 May 1817.
His parents moved from Connecticut @1821 to Union, Broome Co. NY where most of his youth was spent. After his fathers death in Union, NY in 1834, Freelove sold the farm in 1839.

Someone in Ancestry.com put marriage in Colorado which I believe is big error. Most likely married in Leyden, Rock Co., WI where sister Achsah Brown McMillan and husband Benjamin S. McMillan had hotel in Leyden, Rock Co. Wisconsin. Also, other sister Clarissa Brown m. Morrison McMillan. Cyrus W Pope's
brother Anson Waterman Pope was a Justice of Peach and they might have been married at
his home in Janesville, Wisconson.
I believe Cyrus W. Pope and Nancy Jane Brown met in Ohio or Rock Co., Wisconsin.

Pope thru Clarissa Brown McMillan her sister and husband Morrison McMillan or through other sister Achsah Brown McMillan and husband Benjamin Sill McMillan in Leyden, Rock Co., WI. Benjamin Sill McMillan was a first cousin of Morrison McMillan.

Cyrus and Nancy Pope moved prior to 1860 to Centerville, Linn Co., Kansas Territory, P.O. Oakwood. Both Cyrus W. Pope and son Virgil Pardon Pope enlisted in Kansas 10th Infantry for Union. Papers on file at National Archives. After the Civil War Cyrus and son Virgil Pardon Pope joined Nancy Jane (Brown) Pope in Sparta, Monroe Co.,WI where Nancy's sisters living.
