Grover Homer "Homer" Bond was the eldest of sixteen children born to Jefferson Davis Bond and Mary Caroline Holcomb.
He married Sarah Adeline "Addie" Roberts in 1906. She was the daughter of Ramsey and Mary Roberts.
Homer worked most of his life as a house carpenter and later as a building contractor.
Homer and Addie had seven children: Velma Claudelia, Virgie Olivia, Margie Carlina, Homer Evan, Mary Lee, Ronald, and Ora Nell.
